Turning Fear into Power
by Frank Mejia
So many New Year’s resolutions, so little time. But there’s one thing you’ve been putting off. No, it’s not cleaning out the garage or calling that distant cousin in Chicago. It’s attending a Toastmasters meeting. Think about it. Have you:
- Passed up opportunities at work because they involved public speaking?

- Been asked to be a guest speaker at an upcoming event, such as a wedding, and didn’t know how to prepare?
We here at Voyagers Toastmasters are your solution. With help from our supportive group, you will be able to stand confidently in front of small and large groups and speak powerfully and effectively.
People from all walks of life are Toastmaster members. Retirees. Students. Business Owners. Professionals. People just like you. At a recent meeting, I asked guests which word best describes public speaking:
“Fear.” “Terror.” “Death.”
Then I asked fellow Toastmaster members the same question:
“Confidence.” “Power.” “Achievement.”
Our chapter is the bridge between these two very different worlds. As someone once said, “Toastmasters will not get rid of your butterflies, but it will help you line them up.”
Think about it. You go to the gym to get in shape. You go to the doctor when you’re sick. Come to our Toastmasters meetings to find your voice. The best gift you can give yourself is the gift of discovery and self-empowerment.
We extend the invitation to visit us. We will support you 100% in your journey. Diego). For more information, please contact our VP of Membership, Jerry Campana at singer1@san.rr.com.We meet every Thursday at 7 a.m. at Café Coyote 2461 San Diego Avenue
